Trainee in Venice’s father Vincenzo, well-known specialist in internal, he enrolled as a result the local Academy. After his debut in the wake of his father first moved to Naples and then Florence, where he attended the Caffè Michelangelo Macchiaioli binding environment and the figure of the critic Diego Martelli. The production of Castiglioncello shines for the maturity of the new language macchiaiolo used with great rigor. He exhibited in several exhibitions among which are the works sent to Florence in 1863: Gli ulivi del monte alle croci, Motivo sull’Arno presso Pisa, Il lastrico delle bugie, Motivo presso Lerici, L’Arno presso Firenze, Motivo presso Castiglioncello, Vicinanze di Firenze, Interno di una cappella in Santa Croce, L’ora del riposo, Motivo presso Palazzetto alle Cascine di Pisa.
