    Aurelio Tiratelli

    Academy of St. Luke, was a pupil of Podesti of Tommaso Minardi and Capalti. Was especially renowned as animal and landscape painter, player of the beautiful places of the Roman Campagna.

    His most notable works are: “A wagon drawn from buffaloes in the Pontine Marshes”, preserved in the Museum Revoltella in Trieste; “Fighting bulls” in the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, “a train wreck”, bought by the Ministry of Public education, “a brand of oxen at Ostia,” purchased by the Royal House; another “railway disaster” and “a working oil in Ceccano”, purchased by King Umberto I, “a wagon to Marchegiana”, exhibited in Paris in 1889 already called the “Fight of bulls,” “a tooth-puller in the middle of a show in the Valle del Sacco”, who emigrated to Chile
