Student of the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown of Smargiassi and Morelli. And ‘one of the most remarkable and renowned artists of the customs of the people, the sea and the shining Neapolitan landscape, which has been able to portray with good technique and a palette with juicy and bright.
He exhibited for the first time a picture to the Promotion of Fine Arts in Naples in 1873. The first picture that was quite successful, “The gift of Rita,” exposed him to Turin in 1879 was bought by the Marquise d’André.
Then exhibited in Venice in 1881, “The bodice of the grandmother” in Florence in 1882, “Little peasant” and “Grosse pumpkins” in Milan in 1883 “Reason for delay” in Rome in the same year, “Entry into the countryside” , in Terni in 1884, “Water zurfegna in Saint Lucia,” purchased for the National Gallery of Rome, Venice in 1887, “Mary Rose”; “Apparition,” “Easter Market in Naples” to the arrangement of San Francisco in 1915, “Autumn in the Grand Canal” and “Water zurfegna in Saint Lucia,” now in the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome; “Factory of the Saints” is in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan.
