He studied first with the painter Brescia S. Cattaneo and then enrolled at The Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. From 1804 to 1809 it has been documented to Rome, where binding to V. Camuccini port ‘to mature into his idea of classical landscape in the wake of the masters of his time such as M. Verstappen and A. Teerlink.
His output includes portraits, historical and religious scenes but especially landscapes made according to the criteria of the classical landscape studied masters such as C. Lorrain and N. Poussin.
