Event: International Biennial of Antiques in Rome 2016 – X Edition
The Berardi Gallery on the occasion of the International Antiques Biennial of Rome (29 – September – 3 October 2016) will present a selection of works from the 19th and 20th centuries. Relevant sculpture will be the presence of the Jumper with the auction by Eugenio Baroni, bronze presented at the Venice Biennale in 1935, and the beautiful marble Syra by Alessandro Rondoni, set in ancient Rome.
Among the paintings there is a suggestive and grandiose canvas by Hermann Corrodi dedicated to Rome and a very refined Ippolito Caffi – one of the most beautiful dedicated to the East – with the isthmus of Suez. Among the views dedicated to Rome, the View of Rome from Monte Mario by Jakob Frey, coming from a foreign collection, and an exciting View of the Pontine Marshes by Achille Vertunni, already exhibited in 1883 at the International Exhibition of Rome, are also interesting.
