Silvio Bicchi

( Livorno 1874 - Firenze 1948 )

Painter

    Silvio Bicchi

He was a pupil of G.Fattori at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and then inserted into the stream of post macchiaioli. Later he made study trips to Paris, where he seems to be affected by the sudden energetic and nervous Toulouse-Lautrec, and then to London, where he studied carefully the eighteenth and nineteenth century English.

After a successful stay in America, who solved all its economic problems, he returned to Italy to devote himself exclusively to art. He painted landscapes, genre scenes, portraits.

Among the works on display at Italian exhibitions include: L’inverno, Palla difficile! effetto di sera, Metamorfosi, Il cavallo del fiaccheraio, Belve, Piccoli suini, Nella stalla, Vitelle, I pisani al mercato, Ballo di apaches, Il Capo, Le belve, Piazza di Capri, Il venditore ambulante, La lavandaia, L’operazione del poledro, Mucca nella stalla, Maternità, Ciuchino all’aperto, Pesca di beneficenza, Igea marina – Nel bosco (pastello – tempera).
