    Scipione Tadolini

    Sculptor born in Rome in 1822. Still young undertaken that same art of sculpture in which he had distinguished his father, Adam Tadolini. The fame acquired by Tadolini in the early stages of his career encouraged him to study hard honing aesthetic feeling on the works of the Greeks and the masterpieces of quell’ateniese of Italy, which was Antonio Canova.

    Among his works are “The Slave” and “Eve” that had a great success so much so that the “Slave” made it over forty replicas and “Eve” replied the 36 times. In addition, the statue of “Saint Lucia” in the church of the Banner in Rome, and the equestrian statue of “Bolivar” on the square of Lima, the simulacrum of “San Michele” which is located in Boston in the palace of Mr. Gardener Brewer. In 1870 Tadolini sculpted the bust of “Vittorio Emanuele”, one of the most successful for finesse work and resemblance.
