He completed his training under the guidance of Arienti and then in Rome with Coghetti. Here in 1863 he exhibited “Bersabò Visconti and the messengers of Innocent VI” for which he was expelled from the Papal States. In 1864 he exhibited in Venice Vettor Pisari released from prison, which earned him the appointment as a member of the Academy of art Veneta, and praise Hayez.
