    Pasquale Domenico Cambiaso

    Born in Genoa February 5, 1811, died March 10, 1894. He studied painting in Genoa, but especially in Parma and Napoli. More than a landscape painter was vedutista objective, expert eye, good taste in the selection and cutting of the reasons. To him we owe the images of many monuments and sights of Genoa, today destroyed or transformed.

    In the last years of his life completely abandoned painting. Estimated by the Genoese aristocracy, had pupils of great name. It was academic merit of Linguistics and briefly added to the elementary school teacher of drawing and then in the College of Marine. His major works: “Fruitful San Portofino,” “Watercolor,” “Cliff” “The first alms”, exhibited in 1873 at the Promoter; “New Square” “The new road from Raibetta to go to the pier,” “The basilica of Santa Maria di Carignano, “watercolor in sepia,” Genoa before portuari new jobs. ” The daughter Laura was also a painter.
