Mamerto Segui Arechala
Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, followed in 1881, he moved to Rome to work in the wake of the “Spanish colony” in style of Mariano Fortuny y Marsal. Hence the scenes from everyday life, to ‘the east and the parties in costume, always made unmistakable descriptive detail accompanied by lively and bright palette. In 1890 he returned to Madrid where he continued to exhibit his works regularly.
