    Luigi Bazzani

    He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and later traveled extensively in France and Germans where he worked as a set designer. He settled in Rome since the ’60s specialized in easel paintings – highly sought after in the overseas market – depicting scenes of ancient Rome.

    The accurate reconstruction of the environments and the descriptive detail was the basis of his works were inspired often in Pompeii. Later realized in collaboration with C. Fracassini different decorations in public buildings and churches.

    Among his works are: Avanzi del Portico d’Ottavio a Roma, L’arco di Settiminio Severo, Fontana di Pompei (restauro), Atrio di casa pompeiana, Peristilio (studio), Lararium di Pompei, Spiaggia d’Anzio, Otto schizzi per servire alla scenografia . Duca d’Alba – Africana – Triclinio pompeiano – Ugonotti – Fondo per presepio – Tanhauser, Sul Campidoglio, Cortile della casa Latini (Viterbo), Casa Zecca (Viterbo), Cortile di una casa a Pompei.
