    Giuseppe Costa

    He learned the basics of drawing in Chieti and later moved to Naples, he enrolled at the Institute of Fine Arts, a pupil of Morelli. He preferred the picture of the figure to the landscape and, after attending the studio of Achille Talarico, he distinguished himself as a portraitist.

    Exhibited in Naples from 1874 to 1911, the promoter of the shows’ Salvator Rosa. ” Figured in Rome in 1883 and in Leningrad in 1902. Some of his works: “It ‘s ready to soma,” purchased by the Province of Naples; “Remembrance”; “Fosca uncertainty,” “The Neapolitan girl,” “GAY words!” “The home life,” “Two Orphans” purchased for the headquarters of the Banco di Napoli Exposition of the Promoter in 1886, “Catering by fatigue” and “Confidences” respectively purchased from Umberto I and Vittorio Emanuele III, “the Girl of the juggler” purchased by the Ministry of Education. Portraits: “Ms. Giannelli Astarita,” “Baron Cross Nanni,” “cav. Andrea Giannelli,” “Mrs. Clorinda Spano Savarese.”
