Descendant of that Baldassare Castiglione, who was one of the best friends of Raphael. He began his studies in Naples and completed them in Rome and Florence attending the best artists. He lived and fifty years in Paris. First reproduced interiors and landscapes, but later chose the portrait and historical subjects.
