After have learned the first rudiments of his native village, he moved to Naples, where he enrolled in courses at the local Academy of Fine Arts, following the course of the sculptor S.Lista and G.Toma. At the same time approached F.Palizzi and D.Morelli, the two great representatives of Neapolitan painting.
His specialization soon became the pastel with which drew the places of Naples and those of the homeland to which he was always very attached. In this technique, the prime example was FP Michetti and in its wake the Paris adventure began in 1892 working for the dealer Goupil and exhibiting regularly at the salons.
Casciaro was very prolific artist and built landscapes and still lifes, among his works are: Ortelle – dalla mia terrazza, Neve e fiori, Via Tasso, Il tevere, Il Vesuvio, Impressione della campagna napoletana, Il Castel dell’Ovo, Marina di Castro, La Seine à S.Cloud, Tramonto, Il Castel dell’Ovo dal Vomero, Verso sera, Nel bosco, Capo Santa Maria (Finisterrae), Addio del sole, Sulla via di Soccaro, Via d’Annacapri (Isola di Capri), Tempo grigio,Grotta della Zinzolusa a Castro, Sulla via dei camaldoli, Il Vomano alle Fontanelle, Da Atri, La Senna a Charenton.
