Giuseppe Camino
Born in Turin October 28, 1818 in Calumet died February 26, 1890. First established in the administrative career, he devoted himself, in 1842, to painting, studying from life during his travels in Italy and abroad. In addition to landscapes, which were, he treated of preference and where there is a romantic form and rather melodramatic, left frescoes, decorations, spectacular paintings and portraits.
Reproduced in many studies, the most picturesque spots in the Alps Some of his works: “The thinning of a storm” and “Virgin Forest”, a gift from the author to the Museum of Turin, “Alto Canavese,” “The Roman Campagna,” “Mont Blanc,” “Portrait of King Victor Emmanuel the “.
His paintings are sacred in the church of the Visitation and Rocciamelone in Turin. A fresco of “The slaves freed from Piedmont in France St. Epiphanius,” is in the church of Saint Maximus in Turin as well. Some of his works are found in the Gallery of Modern Art in Florence as the “Alpine landscape.” He exhibited in various national exhibitions, always kindly regarded by the public and critics.
