At the end of the eighteenth century followed the courses of the Academy of Venice and then to devote himself to frescoes in private homes. Soon established himself as a decorator inventive and free of rigidity dictated by the neo-classical style. In 1807 he was the protagonist of the commission received by the viceroy Eugène de Beauharnais for the realization of the royal palace at New Magistrates in Piazza San Marco in Venice. Later he was responsible for the decoration of private villas, also in collaboration with F.Hayez, Padua, Venice and Udine.
It was also in charge of the decoration of the theater hall of the Phoenix Theatre in Venice, for which he also became the official designer. In 1812 he obtained the chair of ornate at the? Academy of Venice developing new ornamental types, collected in the volume ornamental Opera by Giuseppe Borsato. He also devoted himself to easel painting realizing views canalettiano flavor, as can be seen from the Riva degli Schiavoni with snow, preserved at the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo in Brescia.
