Fece parte di un’attiva famiglia di artisti, ricordiamo qui solo il padre e il fratello, che ebbe larga fortuna nella pittura lombarda. Il suo genere di specializzazione fu la veduta che lo portò ad avere riconoscimenti presso la borghesia lombarda e presso la clientela internazionale. Un soggiorno a Roma a fine anni ’20 gli permise anche di aggiornare il suo repertorio con i soggetti laziali. Si dedicò anche alla pittura di paesaggio storico, di genere ed ai dipinti di battaglia. Ricordiamo tra le altre opere Veduta del Golfo di La Spezia, Veduta del Golfo di Sestri Levante, Morte di San Luigi re di francia aaccaduta il 25 agosto 1270 presso l’antica Cartagine.
