He campaigned in 1866 for Italian independence; he had as master Vincenzo Vela, but the principles were hard, having to help in their studies, as roughing machine, the sculptors Dini, Albertoni and others.
His main works in Saluzzo are the monument “A Giambattista Bodoni”, won by competition, and the monument “A Diodata Saluzzo”; in Ivrea the monument “To General Ettore Perronedi of San Martino” won by competition; in Mondovì the monuments “A Giovanni Garelli” and “A Paolo Amilhau”; in Magliano d’Alba the monument “To Vincenzo Troya”; in Trofarello the monument “A Carlo Bò”; in the cemetery of Racconigi, the monument “To maestro Paolo Bodojra”; in the town hall of Turin, the bust “A Giuseppe Pomba”; monuments in the cemetery of Turin: “To doctor Alessandro Sella” won by competition; “To the banker Felice Ruffinati”; “To the Family of Eugenio Sella”; “To the Comba Family”; “To the Arnosio Family”; “Alla Famiglia Auxilia”, with a grandiose effect; “To doctor Giulio Paganini”; “To Camillo Teppa”; “To Innocenti Demaria”; “To the engraver Luigi Farina”; many portraits, busts and statuettes for wealthy amateurs; the bust-portrait of the poet “Angelo Brofferio”, and the bronze statuette representing the sculptor “Carlo Marocchetti” purchased in 1888 by the Turin Society of Fine Arts.
