Student in Rome by Francesco Capalti then went to Mariano Fortuny. From there the link with Goupil, the most well-known merchant of the time he had in his stable masters such as Jean Leon Gerome, Ernest Meissonier and Fortuny himself, and that served the best customers of the time, aristocrats and large businesses.
Goupil archives are in fact remember numerous paintings of the artist: among others, a visit to the Palazzo Farnese, The grooming, The curious, Workshop artist, Getting Ready for the dance, a visit by gondola. The titles denote the preference for gender issues in the wake of Fortuny and Meissonier, conducted with accuracy neofiamminga and vibrant colors, its appeal to the public.
