Francesco Galante
He enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples in 1889. Thanks to his natural talent in 1904 won the first prize for the painted figure and license with praise. Released by the Institute, its economic conditions did not allow him to study only, without any result, and then decided to go to Milan in search of work to do with it and was able to give Sonzogno and Treves by publishers for their illustrated publications.
He could, as well, continue with greater vigor his studies and to complete pictorial paintings that were accepted in various exhibitions. He has exhibited in Turin, Rome, Rimini, Paris, Milan, Santiago, Chili and other smaller shows. E ‘was also an exhibitor of Salvator Rosa in the years 1904 and 1911.
In 1911 the painting “Emotion”, awarded with bronze medal, great coinage of R. Institute Encouragement of Naples was purchased by the Company and was chosen by lot to the Municipality of Bari; “Farewell” was purchased by the Cav. Edward Box; “small white house” was bought by Comm Roberto de Sanna and “head”, offered by the author to the Company, was chosen by lot to Mr.. Henry Cimino.
He has worked in decorative works of Hall of Campania, Basilicata and Calabria fifty years Ethnographic Exhibition in Rome in 1911. The Galante was a member of the Committee of acceptance of the works, and at a time exhibitor, at 1.a Youth Exhibition of 1909 in Naples.
