Francesco Fanelli
Born in Livorno March 9, 1863, died in Torre del Lago (Viareggio) July 16, 1924. He began his studies in Lucca with the Norfini in 1888 he went to Florence and attended the school of the factors. He then lived retired in Torre del Lago, on the banks of Massaciuccoli, addicted to reproduce the striking aspects of those quiet places.
He painted with the serenity which is characteristic of his school, playing with true fidelity. Exhibited in Florence, Turin, Milan and Genoa. In the Spring of 1922 Fiorentina had sent the “Portrait of Tiburcio” and “turkey”. Other works: “Washerwomen on the lake”, exhibited in Milan in 1900 and Florence in 1901, “The goose,” reputed to be one of his best works.
