Falletto Vittorio Cerruti di Castiglione
Falletto Vittorio Cerruti di Castiglione was born in Turin in 1870. The young man trained under the guidance of Mario Viani D’Ovrano, a fellow landscape painter. He devoted himself entirely to landscape painting, showing a strong interest in rendering light and color in his works. Like his master Viani, the young man established himself as heir and follower of the tradition inaugurated by Lorenzo Delleani and Antonio Fontanesi. He then approached the pictorial lexicon of Enrico Cavalli when he went to Santa Maria Maggiore in Val Vigezzo, learning from the master that language straddling impressionism, divisionism and naturalism that characterizes his painting.
The artist did not usually participate in exhibitions, and it was only in 1925 that he received an invitation to take part in the International Exhibition organized in Domodossola.
His landscape paintings are displayed in various private galleries in Turin, Alessandria, Caramagna, Milan, Lyon and Santa Maria Maggiore.
The site is constantly updated with unpublished works by the protagonists of painting and sculpture between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
