    Ernesto Fontana

    He studied at the Accademia di Brera disciple of Bertini. He painted many portraits and treated the historical genre, he used various techniques, tempera and oil to cool, in which he demonstrated particular aptitude, decorating palaces and churches.

    He was an illustrator of many periodicals. His works: “Mary Stuart at the foot of Elizabeth of England”, exhibited at the National Exhibition of Milan in 1872, winning a gold medal and acquired by the British Museum in London, “The Odalisque”, also awarded with medal gold and sold in London, “The Odalisque The”, his latest work preserved in Cureglia along with his other works, “Fortune”, Ravasio property of Milan “Carmen” and “Mignon”, very popular and reproduced in thousands of holographic copies, “a lesson of love” and “Portrait of a Lady”, preserved in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan.
