Edoardo Perotti was born in 1824 in Turin, but moved to Geneva where he studied at the École commerciale. Here he cultivated his artistic passion and became a student of landscape painter Alexandre Calame. In 1845 he moved to Paris, coming into contact with the Barbizon School and updating his language toward greater realism. Edoardo Perotti follows a luministic and tonal quest aimed at the natural “real.” He uses cuts, more casual and less panoramic, while not abandoning that lyrical and romantic sense that characterizes his painting.
