    Cesare Maggi

    Allievo di Corcos a Firenze si spostò in seguto a Napoli, con Esposito, e dunque a Parigi, dove seguì gli insegnamenti di Cormon. A partire dal 1899 iniziò la pittura all’aria aperta in Engandina, sulle orme di Segantini. Stabilitosi a Torino si specializzò in paesaggi eseguiti con tecnica divisionista (Chiesetta alpina, Roma, Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna) ma eseeguì anche ritratti e nature morte.

    Espose in diverse occasioni e tra le diverse opere ricordiamo: Almeno c’è il fuoco, Ritratto, Tempus distruendi, Mattino di festa, Un angolo di vita, Le nuvole, A San Mauro una sera d’inverno, Il pastore, Quando splende il sole, I casolari che attendono, La sera di Natale a Courmayer.
