    Carlo Stragliati

    He completed his training with the Academy of Brera where he studied with R. Casnedi and G. Bertini. After completing his studies in 1892, he won the competition for the board Oggioni and went to Rome and Venice.

    In 1898 he exhibited in Turin a large canvas, “Mater derelicta,” which was bought by the Ministry of Education for the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome. The following year he appeared in Brera “The Cross of the next.” Following its production was extremely abundant.

    He treated the figure especially in genre pictures, with great feeling and delicate aristocratic sensibility that shines the rest, as well as in oil paintings, even in his sketches in pencil and pen, in blood, in pastels.

    He made several vigorous portraits. Among his works exhibited in Italy include: The daughter of Tintoretto, Mater derelicta, Soapdish, The Mirror, Rita, Meteora marina.
