Carlo Markò
Landscape painter born in Budapest on January 22, 1822, he came to Italy at the age of 16 and settled permanently in Florence, doing his studies here and adopting Italy as his second homeland.
He always treated the landscape and the name of the Markò serves to guarantee the excellence of the painting. “Valle di Quesa in the Pisan countryside” is a painting he has replicated ten times.
“The Boccaccio Brigade”; “View of Bella Riva”; “The Carrara quarries”; “Country in Corsica”; “The surroundings of Gaville”; “Along the Arno” are stupendous landscapes that he has repeatedly executed and which have earned him admissions, honors and fame.
He is Professor of the Academies of Florence, Genoa, Perugia and Urbino.
