Carlo Mancini

( Milano 1829 - 1910 )

Painter

    Carlo Mancini

He took his first steps at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where he specialised in the landscape genre. The teachings of Giuseppe Bisi were the basis of this training and of his subsequent success, which he achieved also thanks to a dense exhibition activity. In 1859 he presented Parte superiore della chiesa di San Marco a Milano and Un Bosco. Mattino d’inverno was exhibited at the Universal Exhibition in Paris.

In 1868 he sent L’orto del Chiostro to Milan and in 1872 Frane di Belleguarda presso il Po. Other works include: La punta di Limonta sul Lago di Como, Ave Maria della sera, Brughiera di Gallarate. His travels were of great importance in the painter’s activity: many works are inspired by his stays in France, Normandy, Scotland and the Orient, from Egypt to India.
