    Angelo Inganni

Born in Brescia on 24 November 1807, died in Gussago December 3, 1880. He got from his father Giovanni, mediocre decorator, and his brother Francesco, very considered in the painting of animals, the first lessons of art.

Exempted from military service in 1833, he went to Milan, where he was able to attend the Academy of Brera, schoolboy Hayez. In 1837 he began to exhibit in Milan and Brescia. Then he was invited everywhere, in Italy and abroad. He was admired for the variety of his paintings, and especially for the perspective.

His name is linked to the early genre paintings that were seen in Italy and his predilection for certain effects of artificial light. In the Pinacoteca di Brescia seen of him: “Sweeps” “Farmer lights his pipe with a firebrand,” “Portrait of Louis Basiletti and Paola Richiedei” “Vittorio Emanuele”. Other works: “Farmer light a lamp,” “A drunkard,” “View of Milan”, which figured at the Exhibition of Painting of the nineteenth century Lombard, held in Milan in 1900, “Girl skinning the duck in front of the fire “, owned by the painter Gaetano Cresseri of Brescia;” the dancer Taglioni, “” Vittorio Emanuele in horse “, at the headquarters of the Military Academy of Turin;” wedding party on the outskirts of Brescia, “” Piazza Mercanti “, in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan, “View of the Piazza del Duomo” and “Covered Figini of”, in the Historical Archive of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan as well.

The Exhibition of Painting of the nineteenth century Brescia (Brescia, 1934) appeared with sixty-five works largely owned by families from Brescia. Artist plentiful, but unequal vein, overcame the academic neoclassical and romantic with a vibrant, immediate sense of reality.
