Son and grandson of painters, went to Milan twelve years old and I attended the Brera Academy until 1914, at the outbreak of the European war. Returned from the war with such fervor and sincerity to the study of fourteenth century and Quattrocentisti. He was among the founders of the “twentieth-century Italian.” He has participated in numerous exhibitions: in Rome (Biennial), Paris, Monaco, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Stockholm, London, Buenos Aires, Pittsburg. Since 1920 it has been present at the Venice Biennale: in that year he exhibited: “Country” (drawing) and “A Mother” in 1922, “Umbrian Landscape,” which figured in the same year at the Spring Fiorentina; “Ligurian landscape” and “Landscape of Valseriana”, all designs, and a “Portrait” in 1924: “Città della Pieve di Lamone Valley” (drawing) and “Inside” in 1926: “Child,” “Country” and “Landscape of Liguria “in 1928:” the road in the woods “,” Umbria Girl, “” Woman with shawl, “” spring Morning in Liguria, “” the orange grove, “” Pansy “in 1930:” Flowers “” Girl with a fan “,” Landscape in Chiavari, “” Girl Reading “;” Road riviera “and” Still Life “in 1932, finally, a series of thirty-two works in solo exhibition: the works of the figure, portraits, nudes, landscapes, still lifes, among which is remarkable especially “the Girlfriends”.
