He had a marked difficulty training hard for ‘economic, hence the job as an assistant in the studios of sculptors in Milan at the end of the century. In 1896 he sent ‘a small marble head to Monaco and gained the favor of his patron F. Rose. Soon his sculptures, such as translucent porcelain thanks to special operations craft gained a great fame. In 1922, the Venice Biennale hosted a major retrospective of the master. In 1923 he was appointed professor of sculpture at the Brera Academy.
