    Achille Martelli

    Calabrian painter, born in Catanzaro, he dedicated himself more especially to majolica painting, but he also deals with artistic ceramics, and in both the two branches of art he distinguished himself and enjoys a good reputation.

    In Naples in 1877 he exhibited: “Painted majolica”; “The love horoscope”; “Group of portraits”. In Turin in 1880: “Eight objects of artistic ceramics”; in Milan in 1881: “The smile of innocence”, a beautiful child’s head; and “Child’s Play”, truly commendable works.
