Achille Ghezzi
Lombard painter, living in Monza, he studied in Milan and devoted himself particularly to the reproduction of the “Still life”. He executed a large number of paintings of various sizes and shapes, for decoration of dining rooms, armories, etc., which were purchased by notable personalities and some also by S. M. the King.
In Milan, in 1883, he exhibited: “Dead game” and two other paintings also representing birds and other hunting prey, which were immediately sold. In Turin, in 1884, he also exhibited other paintings on the same subject and so in Venice, in 1887, where he had four paintings all of this kind.
The main patrician houses in Lombardy possess paintings by Ghezzi, who can be said to be the only one, who knows how to reproduce still life with such skill.
The site is constantly updated with unpublished works by the protagonists of painting and sculpture between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
