Provenance: Germany, private collection

Note: This specimen is a variant of the sculpture The Caresse exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1909. The specimen presented here is known as a single version, cast by the “Beneduce e Marinelli” Artistic Foundry, of which we have information in the mid-1920s. The sculpture can be dated around 1925.
